H Y G G E
(Hue-Guh)
a Danish word meaning 1. life’s moments brimming with happiness, comfort, loved ones, favorite things, beautiful places; 2. Savoring the present moment; 3. The good life.
We chose our team name at training camp without really knowing how perfect it was until now. We’ve been told that when people walk into our room they instantly feel the coziness & love of home. Each Sis on my team brings their own special piece of who they are that creates the presence of our team. We bring hygge into all of life’s little & big moments. My team loves to enjoy the little things & never hesitates to point out the beauty in life. Some of our favorite things are honey & cinnamon on our popcorn (if ya haven’t tried it, you need to!), being alone together, being silly, chocolate over 50%, laughing & thanking God for the joys of life.
I would like to introduce you to each of the ladies on my team! We share a room, clothes, stories from home & lots of laughs! Each day we have team time. Once a week we have an opportunity to call each other higher & point one another to Jesus through feedback. We also debrief the week, do a Bible Project study and blog once a week as a team. I love the bond & trust we’ve created.
AIDYN CARNES
Aidyn is my amazing team leader! She went on the Race last year & is here to help lead us for the the first three months. We love her! She is a woman of God who walks with love, intentionality & joy. She doesn’t even have to say anything for people around her to feel special & seen. I love the stares & smiles she gives me throughout the day & just being in her presence.
SUMER FURLONG
Sumy is also on the logistics team with me. She is truly a breath of fresh air & one of the most understanding people I’ve ever met. Her presence brings peace to everyone around her & it’s so comforting. She is always there to reassure us & bring us different perspectives. I love her excitement when an idea pops into her mind & her determination to make everything so fun & unique!
VALERIE MADDOX
Val has been blessed with such a fun & loving spirit that makes everyone feel like they belong & can be themselves. She invites everyone into her world of fun which is almost always music & dancing, her random & funny conversations or her awesome vlogs. She is so authentic & confident who God has created her to be. She brightens up the room the minute she walks in.
PAIGE CANOVA
Paige is very intentional with making sure everyone is known & cared for. She sees everyone for who God created them to be & points out the beauty in who they are. God has blessed her with amazing leadership skills and she leads with confidence & joy. We are so excited that we got to welcome her into the dark chocolate fan club because fun fact: people who are allergic to dairy can have dark chocolate!!!
KYLAH UMBARGER
Kylah has such a selfless & kind heart. She is so intentional with everyone she meets & truly desires to get to know who they are. She never hesitates to be kind to strangers or our squad & is always there to help, listen or pray for another person. Her obedience to the Holy Spirit & boldness is inspiring. She makes everyone feel loved.
EMILY PATTON
Emi loves Jesus & loves the little things in life, like flowers! She is always there to lift you up. Her presence is comforting, loving & joyful. She has so much wisdom & it is such a blessing when she shares it with us. She is always there to give advice, listen or just make you feel like you’re not alone. She makes everyone feel like they have a friend.

Mackenzie has a sweet heart that is constantly checking in on others. She wants to make sure people feel loved and welcomed. The way she jokes with people can catch you off guard (in a good way because of how it is always said at exactly the right time) and will always make you laugh! – Paige
